Laura Browning’s paintings are inspired by the rhythm and movement of light reflecting on water. Through layers of transparent oil glazes, she captures the interplay of light and color in currents and waves, conveying the depth and life of an ever-changing landscape.

Her work is directly inspired by personal experiences, often recalling idyllic summer days when life feels most alive. The process of creating these water-themed pieces is meditative for Laura, allowing her to get lost in both the work and the natural beauty that inspires it.

A graduate of California State University Long Beach, Laura has taught workshops at the Los Angeles Museum of Art and interned at the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy. Her work is collected internationally and represented by several galleries across the United States.

Laura creates in her home studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lives with her husband and young son in an Eichler home that offers endless inspiration. She uses environmentally friendly oils and solvents in her work.
